Session 1: Coastal Ecosystems and Tidepools (La Jolla, CA)

Session 3: Coastal Change, Erosion and Watersheds (Torrey Pines)

Session 2: Human Intervention at the Coast (Mission Bay/Beach)

Marine Science: Discover the living coastline as students explore tidepools, study marine life, and collect field data to compare protected and non-protected ecosystems.

Week 3 Creative Project: Students create handmade paper and design a custom field journal to document their scientific observations.

Sept 25, Oct 2nd, 9th, & 16th

Session 2: Human Intervention at the Coast (Mission Bay/Beach)

Session 3: Coastal Change, Erosion and Watersheds (Torrey Pines)

Session 2: Human Intervention at the Coast (Mission Bay/Beach)

Marine Science: See how people shape the shoreline as students investigate coastal engineering, test water quality, and analyze how human decisions impact marine environments.

Week 3 Creative Project: Students build hands-on coastal models inspired by real data and maps, connecting science concepts to design and problem-solving.

Oct 23rd, 30th, Nov 6th, 13th

Session 3: Coastal Change, Erosion and Watersheds (Torrey Pines)

Session 3: Coastal Change, Erosion and Watersheds (Torrey Pines)

Session 3: Coastal Change, Erosion and Watersheds (Torrey Pines)

Marine Science: Explore a changing coastline as students study erosion, watersheds, and ecosystem shifts while collecting and analyzing field data.

Week 3 Creative Project: Students create a scientifically accurate coastal painting that communicates ecosystem structure, change, and environmental impact.
